Operations Inspector
The Operations Inspector provides detailed inspection and assessment of products to identify and recommend improvements to prevent failures. This role performs cosmetic and visual inspections on production and RMA products, ensuring they meet Thales Quality Standards for packaging and assembly. The Operations Inspector focuses on improving product quality, reducing costs, and streamlining processes while upholding ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities

Quality Control: Ensure adherence to quality assurance and control practices, procedures, and safety policies.

Documentation: Document inspection results, summarize re-work and waste, and input data into the quality database.

Collaboration: Coordinate with different groups (RMA, Production, Engineering) to analyze and resolve concerns.

Verification: Verify and communicate inspection results, ensuring data validity and traceability.

Continuous Improvement: Guide the team toward continuous improvement goals by following processes and ethical standards.

Training & Support: Assist with rework activities and train assemblers as needed.

Organization: Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment using 6S standards.

Additional Duties: Participate in inventory counts and work in other areas of packaging, such as hand-packing or kit assembly, as required.

High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of quality inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Proven experience with quality control techniques and a personal drive to improve products.

Experience with troubleshooting practices and test equipment.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for daily reporting and data management.

Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and engineering order instructions.

Highly detailed inspection skills and strong organizational and time management abilities.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred: IFE production and SAP or similar ERP systems experience.
Physical Demands

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
