Organizational Change Management Lead – Manufacturing Merger and Acquisition
Location: Lake Forest, IL (Hybrid) 3 days in office
Duration: 3–6 Month Temporary Contract
Payrate: $120–$130/hour
Travel: Approximately 25% to manufacturing sites
We are seeking an experienced Organizational Change Management Lead to support a manufacturing acquisition. This role will focus on the people, process, and structural aspects of change, not technology implementation. The OCM Lead will develop a comprehensive change management playbook to guide the organization through network transitions, facility closures, and operational realignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a change management strategy and playbook to support merger and acquisition related transitions, including facility closures and network restructuring
- Partner closely with executive leadership, HR, operations, and site leaders to ensure alignment and adoption
- Lead stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, and resistance management efforts
- Create and deliver clear, consistent internal and external communications, including messaging for unionized environments
- Support leaders and managers with tools, talking points, and guidance to lead teams through change
- Coordinate on-site change activities at manufacturing facilities, including employee engagement and feedback loops
- Monitor adoption, sentiment, and readiness, adjusting strategies as needed
Required Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of working experience in Mergers & Acquisitions with proven results.
- Bachelor's degree or higher (4-year degree required).
- Proven Organizational Change Management expertise, preferably within manufacturing environments
- Strong experience supporting merger and acquisition integrations, including restructures and facility transitions
- Union experience with demonstrated ability to navigate labor considerations and communications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both frontline employees and executive leadership
- Experience developing change playbooks, frameworks, and communication plans
- Ability to work onsite in Lake Forest as needed in a hybrid environment and travel to sites (~25%)
- Familiarity with operational or structural transformations in manufacturing
- Exposure to technology-enabled change is a plus, though this role is not IT-focused
