Description

Paint Operator

LocationSt. Louis, MO (South County) 
Pay Range: $24–$27/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Paint Operator to join our team in support of a leading aerospace manufacturer based in St. Louis, MO. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality finishes on precision aerospace components. Candidates with automotive or aerospace painting experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply primer and topcoat to metal parts and assemblies in accordance with customer and engineering specifications.

  • Mask and prepare parts following detailed engineering drawings and process requirements.

  • Inspect finished parts visually and with measuring tools to verify coating thickness and quality.

  • Maintain cleanliness of spray equipment, booths, and surrounding work areas; change filters and perform routine maintenance.

  • Rebuild and service paint spray guns as part of scheduled maintenance.

  • Accurately complete all production documentation, including work orders, material usage logs, and labor tracking.

  • Monitor paint and material inventories, reporting expired or low-stock items to the supervisor.

  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Prior automotive or aerospace painting experience required; experience with metal component coatings preferred.

  • Familiarity with paint mixing, masking techniques, and coating inspection tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Basic math skills and ability to follow precise technical instructions.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, dust, and paint fumes.

  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours and lift parts, tools, and equipment as needed.

  • Must maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance with company policies.

Additional Information

This position supports work subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, or otherwise authorized to work in the United States under ITAR requirements.
