JOB OVERVIEW
Provide engineering support for new business opportunities and process support for operations.


Key accountabilities: 
1. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, works with sales and customers to help define and meet customer requirements.
2. Supports sales and manufacturing personnel to achieve company's performance goals.
3. For new products assists with product design, quote preparation, and process validations.
4. Works with Engineering Manager, Operations and QA personnel on new product launches.
5. Executes validation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols for new products.
6. Assists in specification of testing for products and materials.
7. Responsible for maintaining project timelines as assigned by supervisor.
8. Identifies process improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
9. Participates in cross-functional problem solving teams.
10. Recommends tool modifications or repairs.
11. Investigates new technology as assigned by supervisor.
12. Ensures compliance with safety programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical discipline OR comparable experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process troubleshooting techniques, root cause analysis, design of experiment and data-driven corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Previous experience in lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement activities and statistical process control is preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a "can do" attitude.
  • Technical ability to create process documentation, interpret part prints and tool drawings, SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Proficient and detail orientated with engineering documentation.
  • Basic understanding of validation processes.
  • Track and drive project status.
  • Can effectively communicate cross functionally, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing.
  • 3+ years injection molding experience in the rubber or plastics industry desired
  • Background/Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred
