QC Scientist I – Products
Pharmaceutical

Location: Boerne, TX
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday; 10-hour
Hourly Pay: $25
Contract-to-Hire

The QC Scientist I performs essential chemical and physical testing to ensure the quality and safety of products and processes. This role involves the evaluation of results, data analysis, and technical troubleshooting within a regulated laboratory environment.
Responsibilities

  • Analytical Testing: Analyze samples using established laboratory methods. Perform complex calculations and data analysis to ensure products meet release specifications.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Provide accurate, compliant documentation for the review and release of commercial products and stability programs.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training to achieve and maintain proficiency in all analytical methods required for commercial release.
  • Instrumentation: Assist in basic laboratory operations and perform foundational troubleshooting for instruments and methods to ensure testing requirements are met.
  • Collaboration: Act as a reliable team player, working closely with management, fellow scientists, and technicians to achieve departmental goals with a professional demeanor.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in a scientific field from a four-year college or university.
  • Experience: * Minimum of 2 years of QC testing experience (external), OR
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Associate Scientist
Specialized Skills
  • Software: Proficient in Windows OS and MS Office. Specific experience with chromatography software (e.g., Empower or Chromeleon) is required for data collection and analysis.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, averages, standard deviations, and basic statistics. Must be able to create and use spreadsheets for validated data analysis.
  • Critical Thinking: Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions from technical instructions or diagrams.
  • Communication: Ability to interpret scientific instructions, SOPs, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA). Must be able to report clearly to management regarding tasks and results.
