Description

Kelly Science is seeking a Research Associate to join a growing agricultural team located in Woburn, MA.
 
Salary: $55,000-75,000/year
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire
 
Job Duties Include:

  • Work closely with formulation scientists to create small batch formulations.
  • Conduct preliminary and complex evaluations to combine active ingredients with excipients for optimal physical and chemical properties.
  • Follow guidance from the R&D director to conduct compatibility and stability testing. Optimize delivery systems by adjusting particle size, solubility, release profiles, suspension behavior, and performing compatibility tests on products like emulsions, granules, and encapsulates.
  • Assist in scaling up processes for both pilot and commercial production, whether in-house or at other locations.
  • Engage in product testing and collect data in various environments, including the lab, greenhouse, and outdoor settings.
  • Keep detailed records of all experimental procedures, observations, and results.
  • Support lab operations by cleaning glassware, preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, and organizing inventory.
  • Identify and report any issues related to plant trials, lab equipment, or processes.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 10% of the time for visits to manufacturing sites.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related scientific field
  • Previous industry experience working within a chemistry laboratory setting.
  • Experience with formulations and/or HPLC strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time for visits to manufacturing sites.
