Inside Sales Engineer- Medium Voltage Switchgear

Our client is seeking an inside sales engineer who has 3+ years current experience with medium voltage switchgear from 5kv-38Kv to cultivate leads into sales as well as support project teams. This role manages the inside sales process—qualifying opportunities, preparing detailed quotations, costing projects, and supporting external sales representatives and customers. The successful candidate will have prior experience quoting and selling Medium Voltage switchgear solutions and will bring strong technical and commercial expertise to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medium Voltage Quotation & Proposal Support
  • Lead the preparation of quotations for Medium Voltage (5kV–38kV) Metal-Clad and Metal-Enclosed Switchgear using our new product configurator, which integrates AI-driven data analytics to provide faster, more accurate proposals.
  • Review specifications, single-line diagrams, and technical documents to define project scope, risks, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with Outside Sales Team, Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure technical accuracy and competitive project costing.
  • Act as the primary internal contact for customer inquiries, clarifications, and technical questions.
  • Support customer design reviews, bid clarifications, and proposal presentations.
  • Pipeline Management
  • Perform project takeoffs and interpret electrical drawings related to MV switchgear applications.
  • Track active quotations, provide updates on order forecasts, and maintain data accuracy in sales tools.
  • Monitor competitors and market activity in MV switchgear to help shape sales strategy.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Contribute to a collaborative and customer-focused sales culture, representing SEG with professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related experience, OR Associate degree with 5+ years, OR High school diploma with 10+ years.
  • Direct experience quoting and selling Medium Voltage (5kV–38kV) Metal-Clad and Metal-Enclosed Switchgear is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Medium Voltage electrical distribution systems and principles.
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet customer deadlines.
