Kelly services is seeking Sanders for a busy cabinet manufacturer located in Rockledge, FL 32955.

Pay- $15/hour
Schedule- Mon-Friday 5am-1:30pm

Job Summary
The Sander will be responsible for using a hand operated orbital sander and other tools to prepare cabinets and compartments for finishing. This position inspects all incoming parts for adherence to quality standards and verifies own work to ensure it meets standards before allowing pieces to move forward. The position requires strong attention to detail, accountability to self and others, and interdepartmental communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the CARE values of the organization.
• Commit to producing a quality product for our customers.
• Use orbital sander to sand and clean drawers and doors to smooth surface and correct any deficiencies
• Prepare surface for paint/stain using appropriate hand tools
• Feel surface of sanded article and visually inspect to verify quality of finished workpieces
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor
• Read labels and instructions carefully and ensure completed pieces are placed correctly on rack by order
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
• Completes and maintains paperwork for parts.
• All other tasks as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as strong basic math skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while performing repetitive motions
• 2+ years related experience preferred school diploma or its equivalent required.
• Must be able to operate orbital sander and safely use hand tools
• Working Relationship Communication is required across all levels of the organization- executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates, and production floor workers.
• The Sander works under the immediate supervision of the Finishing Supervisor.

Physical Requirements
Position requires constant physical effort both inside and outside of an air-conditioned environment. Must be able to lift/move more than 50 lbs. at a time Stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for a long time.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position; days and hours of work may vary depending on business demands. Weekends overtime as required by department.

Safety This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all required protective personal equipment PPE . Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn while on the production floor.
