Senior Accountant

Direct Hire

Kelly is seeking a Senior Accountant to work for our client, a global leader in biotechnology, on a direct hire basis at their corporate office in Stillwater. The Senior Accountant will:

  • Ensure adequate financial control exists over company assets, obligations, and adherence to company procedures
  • Address control weaknesses and respond appropriately to a changing business environment
  • Initiate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to address internal controls and continuity relative to the position
  • Initiate monthly processes to review variances, identify opportunities, determine the cause and effect, resolve reconciling items in a timely basis, and promote process improvement to eliminate future issues
  • Understand, analyze, and take ownership of new and complex accounting issues
  • Proactively partner with other departments to develop efficient processes and communication to accurately capture-monthly expenses and respond to inquiries
  • Promote timely resolution of problems after researching and weighing alternatives solutions
  • Guide other staff by answering questions and share information accordingly
  • Prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicate effectively within Finance and with other stakeholders
  • Form partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders to meet project goals
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial accounting (broad knowledge including inventory, financial reporting, month end close procedures, foreign currencies, payroll)
  • Two years in public accounting preferred
  • Well versed using a financial ERP; SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
