Salary/Hours: 70,000 - 95,000, Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Highly competitive salary based on experience.

What's a typical day as a Steel Project Manager? You'll be:
• Reviewing contract documents and specifications to ensure all requirements are distributed to appropriate personnel.
• Establishing project sequence and specific milestone dates through communication with customers and internal departments.
• Maintaining project schedules and communicating project timelines with drafting, purchasing, production, transport, and sub-contractors.
• Maintaining continuous communication with project customers, engineers, architects, erectors, and sub-contractors.
• Reviewing costs associated with notifications of change and back charges.
• Compiling and analyzing job costing reports and investigating significant variances.
• Working with all key personnel to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Providing support to estimating.
• Purchasing and contracting vendor and sub-contractor resources.
• Enhancing relationships with clients through customer communications.
• Understanding and identifying opportunities to cross-sell products for the other business units within the company.
• Acting as a backup to estimators when needed.
• Ensuring prompt and dependable attendance.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Have general computer experience along with experience using spreadsheet and word processing programs.
• Have the ability to read and understand plans and specs.
• Have good communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Possess the ability to work independently.
• Are able to accept responsibility and account for your actions.
• Can communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and in writing clearly and concisely and actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
• Are willing to strive to get ahead or to finish projects.
• Have the ability to deal with others in an antagonistic situation.
• Can organize and direct a project to completion.

Education and Work Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred.
• Two to three years of related experience preferred.
