Description

Position Title: Team Lead

  • Direct Hire- $25/hr.
  • Mon-Fri, 6am-4:30pm

Position Summary:
The Line Lead is responsible for supervising a designated manufacturing area, providing guidance and support to operators, and ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and LEAN manufacturing practices. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, coordinates production flow, addresses process inefficiencies, and ensures all staff receive appropriate training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enforce safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout (LO/TO), and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and TS/IATF 16949 standards.
  • Oversee cell production processes, emphasizing productivity, quality, packaging, and shipping requirements.
  • Complete production set-ups and assist with tooling cleaning and preparation.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to processes, equipment, and product quality.
  • Coordinate production schedules, labor assignments, and equipment availability.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of scrap and downtime, and maintain thorough process documentation.
  • Train operators to required competency standards and maintain comprehensive training records.
  • Ensure work instructions and control documentation are current and adhered to.
  • Support changeovers, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks, and sample builds.
  • Promote LEAN manufacturing tools such as 6S, TPM, FIFO, and waste elimination.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, audits, design of experiments (DOEs), and capability studies.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior manufacturing experience required; automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
  • 1–3 years of leadership or team lead experience required.
  • Technical training, including equipment certifications, is beneficial.

Work Environment / Conditions:

  • Exposure to the manufacturing floor with required PPE, including safety shoes and eye protection.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Operation and adjustment of production equipment, including handling tooling.
