Job Title: Unit Supervisor
Location: Milan, IL (Onsite)
Assignment Length: 12 Months (As a W2 employee of KellyOCG)
Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour
Shift Information: 2nd Shift, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Onsite only)

  • Potential OT, including Saturdays

Position Overview:
As a Unit Supervisor, you will lead a production workforce to meet distribution priorities based on the production schedule. Your focus will be on safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, and employee engagement, implementing continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with all training, company policies, and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a wage workforce to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals through Continuous Improvement (CI) plans and activities
  • Ensure personnel have proper training, work instructions, and tools
  • Drive safety through ongoing communications, CI Safety and Ergonomic Risk Assessment process, near miss reporting, and corrective actions
  • Monitor production plans, troubleshoot workmanship issues, and supervise production activities to ensure quality standards are met
  • Lead employee engagement activities and foster a positive environment through communications, feedback, and guidance
  • Monitor individual and group performance, take corrective action as needed (including discipline), and respond to complaints to uphold company policies and work rules

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent communicator; thrives on problem-solving and teamwork
  • Experience with manufacturing/warehouse operations
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across functions (supply management, engineering, operations, HR)
  • Flexibility to work across shifts based on production needs

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with continuous improvement pay plans (CIPP)
  • Knowledge of wage/union employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules
  • Experience supervising or leading a union workforce
  • Working knowledge of CI continual improvement and 5S methodology

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
