Pay Range for this position is: $103,000-$155,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location. 





POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Cost Analyst reports to the Director of Operational Analytics and is based out of our Cherry Hill, NJ location. This individual will be responsible for providing financial insight and analysis to support cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. This role will focus on managing the costing process while supporting manufacturing and operational analytics. The Senior Cost Analyst partners with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, cost accounting, margin management, and the finance teams to  achieve the overall strategic plans of Lassonde Pappas & Co.

 


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Management of costing processes, including standard costs and multiple simulated cost sets used for various business analyses
  • Develop various costing models to support product costing, financial analysis, and margin management strategies
  • Analyze variances between standard, actual, and forecasted costs; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by preparing various analyses, reports, and presentations
  • Assist with the evaluation of various business investments and financial opportunities 
  • Develop tools and management reports to improve financial processes and decisions
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of cost accounting, financial analysis, or cost analysis, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain-focused industries 
  • Experience in cost analytics and plant analytics
  • Experience using Business Intelligence Tools
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting related to manufacturing operations
  • Ability to operate independently and self-manage projects
  • Highly organized and process oriented with strong reasoning abilities
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; ERP system experience (QAD) preferred; proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint 
  • Ability to identify, research, and create Excel models to solve problems
  • Ability to develop graphs/charts for various presentations and business reviews
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to collaborate across divisions and with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with QlikView or other BI tools
  • Experience with QAD or other ERP systems
  • Experience in the manufacturing and/or food and beverage industry
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting, driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

 

FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

 

OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

 

VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
