Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery

The Department of Surgery, Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery, at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained comprehensive flexible endoscopist/minimally invasive surgeon (MIS) to join our team for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery.

Comprehensive Flexible Endoscopist/Advanced MIS: This surgeon will have a practice applied to complex flexible endoscopy, foregut, and general surgery. Opportunity to participate in our comprehensive bariatric surgery program will be considered. Completion of a complex flexible endoscopy fellowship is required. Advanced training in MIS is ideal. Procedures the ideal candidate will be trained in include POEM, POP, TIF, ERCP, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including stent, and endoluminal management of leaks, and fistulas. Training in pH-probe and manometry is not required but is ideal.

Procedures performed in this division include laparoscopic and robotic complex abdominal wall hernia, foregut, bariatric, general surgery, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. The division hosts a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship, participates in the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), and has been awarded a Blue Distinction Center for its high-quality bariatric surgery program. The applicant must have a commitment to education and work closely with medical students, residents, and fellows. There is ample research opportunity and clinical outcomes research is highly encouraged. Hospital settings include an MBSAQIP-accredited academic and satellite community programs. Across all settings, our surgeons have access to eight robotic platforms. Candidates must have appropriate board certification and licensure. Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $250,000 – $300,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
