This position is contingent on a contract award.
Enhances human performance, resilience, and mission effectiveness by applying behavioral science principles to support military populations within the Air Force Human Performance Optimization (AF HPO) program. Primarily focuses on non-clinical operational support, including leadership consultation, team development, training, and performance optimization, while providing limited clinical services as needed. Responsibilities include designing and executing assessment and selection programs, delivering evidence-based training, and advising on organizational dynamics and risk mitigation. Supports personnel following high-stress or critical incidents and provides data-driven recommendations to improve unit readiness and effectiveness.Performance Optimization: Applies psychological principles to enhance cognitive performance, stress management, resilience, decision-making, and overall mission effectiveness of individuals and teams. Provides direct support following critical incidents, high-stress missions, combat-related events, or other significant operational activities. (40%)
Provides Leadership Consultation: Provides consultation to leadership on organizational dynamics, team effectiveness, and human factors impacting operations. Delivers observations and recommendations to leadership to support mission effectiveness and organizational performance. (20%)
Delivers Training & Development: Leads evidence-based training on resilience, leadership, and team cohesion. May provide executive coaching, psychological assessment feedback, team development activities, climate assessments, and professional development programs. (20%)
Conducts Assessment & Selection: Leads, designs, and implements psychological evaluation programs to support selection processes for high-risk and leadership roles. (10%)
Limited Clinical Intervention: Conducts clinical psychological assessments, diagnosis, and treatment, as needed. (10%)

Responsibilities
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D or Psy. D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited institution.Successfully completed an APA-accredited internship or residency.
Maintains a current, active, unrestricted license to practice psychology independently within a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
4+ years of post-licensure experience within a Department of Defense or other federal behavioral health environment.
Experience obtaining and maintaining proficiency in operational psychology activities, including personnel assessment and selection, executive coaching, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) psychology support, resistance training oversight, behavioral consultation, and other mission-essential operational psychology functions.
Possess current TS/SCI security clearance.
Demonstrates proficiency in operational psychology activities specific to mission-essential operational psychology functions.
Demonstrates knowledge of human performance, resilience, and organizational psychology principles applied to mission-focused environments.
Willingness to travel.
Proficiently utilizes computers, software, and technology to document work performed, utilization, and other information requirements.
