Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. Overview

The Director, Product within Mastercard's emerging AI Consulting team is responsible for shaping the core AI product and managing the solution roadmap. This role operates in a highly dynamic environment where ambiguity is inherent and innovation is essential.

The position combines strategic product leadership with hands-on execution, requiring the ability to create clarity from complexity and drive measurable impact. The Director serves as the “voice of the asset,” translating market signals, client needs, and strategic priorities into actionable product roadmaps. This team is also responsible for developing and managing payment solutions and services specifically for bank partners, overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, and driving innovation and expertise in the evolving FI landscape, while ensuring solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and globally scalable.



Key Responsibilities

A. Product Development & Execution

Act as the “voice of the asset,” converting market demand and client feedback into clear technical requirements and user stories for Engineering and Data Science teams.

Define and manage the product roadmap for AI-enabled consulting solutions, prioritizing features for maximum impact and scalability.

Partner with Engineering to shape product architecture, release plans, and quality standards.

B. Portfolio & Lifecycle Management

Own the end-to-end lifecycle for assigned products: ideation, pilot, launch, and continuous optimization.

Monitor emerging technologies and competitive trends to inform enhancements and maintain differentiation.

Track performance metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements.

C. Client Engagement & Commercial Impact

Support client co-creation sessions and strategic discussions with Financial Institutions.

Provide product expertise during sales cycles and help shape proposals that articulate value and differentiation.

Manage budgets for assigned portfolio and ensure initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes

D. Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Operate with a startup mindset, embracing ambiguity, driving rapid experimentation, and iterating based on feedback.

Collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams (Engineering, Marketing, Sales, etc.) in a matrixed organization to ensure alignment and delivery of integrated solutions.



All About You
experience in product management, consulting, or technology solutions; experience in AI/ML, fintech, or enterprise B2B preferred.

Proven ability to define and launch scaled technology products in partnership with Engineering and Go-To-Market teams.

Strong technical acumen; able to understand complex data science concepts and communicate effectively to diverse audiences.

Comfortable operating without a playbook—able to create structure from ambiguity and drive clarity in fast-changing environments.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills; capable of influencing senior executives.

Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Toronto, Canada: $146,000 - $234,000 CAD
