Title and Summary

Director, Product Management, Business Identity Registry Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.

Mastercard Identity, within the Security Solutions organization, leads the development of identity products and services that enable global commerce, power financial inclusion, prevent crime, and deliver seamless digital experiences. The Director partners closely with stakeholders to define requirements for Mastercard's Business Identity Registry and to shape a roadmap that expands and enhances the registry's population, coverage, and data quality—unlocking critical merchant use cases across Mastercard.

The Director of Product Management, Business Identity Registry plays a pivotal role in shaping Mastercard's identity strategy by leading the development of a scalable, high-assurance Business Identity Registry that enables merchants to be securely identified and trusted across the merchant lifecycle. This role is responsible for defining a durable registry design that supports evolving merchant use cases—such as onboarding, monitoring, fraud prevention, and compliance—while enabling future expansion without significant architectural changes.
The Director translates strategic objectives into actionable product roadmaps and drives execution across cross-functional teams including Mastercard Data Office, Engineering, Data Science, Product, Privacy, and Legal. With a strong focus on Registry population, data quality, and long-term applicability, the Director ensures the Business Identity Registry can be optimally applied across multiple products and workflows, delivering measurable customer value and aligning with Mastercard's broader vision for digital trust infrastructure.

About the Role:

• Define and own the product vision and roadmap for the Business Identity Registry, ensuring the data assurance, entity resolution approach, and system design scale with volume, complexity, and evolving merchant use cases.
• Optimize the application of the Business Identity Registry across onboarding, monitoring, fraud, and compliance use cases, enabling consistent, high-assurance outcomes across products.
• Partner with engineering and data teams to guide registry architecture decisions that support extensibility, interoperability, and sustained data quality—enabling new use cases without material redesign.
• Design for the full merchant lifecycle, ensuring the registry can support current needs and future expansion and be effectively leveraged by downstream identity, risk, and trust solutions.
• Translate strategic objectives into clear product requirements, balancing near-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity to avoid fragmented or one-off designs.
• Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, data science, legal, privacy, and product teams to deliver registry capabilities that support secure onboarding, fraud mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Establish and maintain a high assurance level of Business Identity data, defining standards for data quality, coverage, and confidence to support trusted decisioning.
• Monitor market and regulatory trends to inform roadmap decisions and ensure ongoing alignment with Mastercard's digital trust strategy.

All About You:
• Demonstrated experience executing complex, data-driven product initiatives, with ownership of end-to-end product strategy, roadmap development, and execution in a matrixed organization.
• Strong ability to partner with engineering and data teams to influence system and data architecture decisions, ensuring products are designed to scale, evolve, and support multiple use cases over time.
• Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align partners across product, technology, legal, privacy, and commercialization on strategic tradeoffs and long-term design choices.
• Deep analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to assess data quality, tradeoffs, and impact when designing high-assurance data products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of establishing credibility and driving alignment with stakeholders and external partners.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and change, balancing near-term delivery with longer-term architectural integrity in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience or strong familiarity with identity, risk, payments, data, or security domains; knowledge of merchant identity, onboarding, or fraud prevention is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
