Title and Summary
Director, Product Management, Realtime Payments Mastercard's Core Payments team is seeking a Director, Product Management, Realtime Payments, to drive product strategy, innovation and execution for Mastercard's Account-to-Account payment solutions (RTP & A2A Overlays) across Asia Pacific. Real-time payments (RTP) are experiencing significant global growth, with 60 markets now having live RTP infrastructure. Asia Pacific has solidified its position as the leader in global real-time payments, processing nearly 70% of the world's 266 billion transactions in 2023.Mastercard is actively riding the wave of RTP growth as part of our multi-rail strategy, which is pivotal in addressing the diverse payment needs of consumers and businesses. Our suite of A2A solutions comprises the Infrastructure and Overlays, to enable multiple use-cases such as personal payments, retail & bill payments, domestic and cross-border Realtime payments.
The Role
As a Director for our Product Management team specializing in Real Time Payment solutions, you will be responsible for the following:
Product Strategy & Vision
• Set and evolve the long-term product vision for account-to-account solutions, identifying new opportunities and driving strategic initiatives across the region
• Own the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals, market trends and customer needs.
• Build and validate business cases to support new product initiatives, overseeing volume projections, rulebook finalization, and commercialization timelines
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as the senior product leader and subject matter expert for external partners, scheme operators and network participants.
• Represent Mastercard at industry forums and strategic customer meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including global and regional product team, account management, delivery, customer support to ensure successful product enhancements, product launches and release management
Product Development & Feature Tuning
• Craft business requirements document from customers and collaborate with global product teams to design and enhance product features
• Drive ideation and prototyping of emerging use-cases, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement including refining UI/UX standards and design guides to improve adoption of products and services
• Collaborate with existing customers for product release planning & management, change management, query management & product roadmap planning
• Partner with third-party vendors and internal team to explore potential expansion opportunities
• Coordinate product socialization sessions, technical specifications walkthrough, and feedback loops to refine product features and timelines
Governance & Compliance
• Ensure product designs meet local regulatory requirements and collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and uphold standards across markets
• Own the studio review process for product entry into markets including market test and commercialization, including documentation preparation and stakeholders approvals across different teams including, legal, finance, treasury, customer experience team, operations and technology
Performance Monitoring & Iteration
• Monitor product performance and track KPIs, gather user feedback, and iterate on features to improve usability and security.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and reporting materials by translating complex product development updates, market insights, and operational metrics into clear, strategic narratives for senior leadership meetings
Team Leadership & Development
• Build and mentor junior team members fostering professional growth and collaboration
• Champion product management best practices, standards and frameworks across the organization
• Drive product visibility within the organization, be seen as subject matter expert and support internal trainings
All About You
• Proven experience in product management, preferably in digital payments, A2A/RTP, financial services or fintech including knowledge of APIs and ISO 20022 message standards
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, drive strategic initiatives and deliver impactful results
• Excellent analytical capabilities – demonstrated ability in utilizing internal and external data to manage performance and provide insights. Attention to detail is a must.
• Strong communications and presentation skills, including the ability to work with people across a matrix organization at all levels
• Expertise in stakeholder management, negotiation and navigating complex, matrixed organizations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to change and uncertainty
• Self-starter, resourceful, and ability to work both as team player and leader
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and data modelling tools would be preferred
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred
