Title and Summary

Director, Project Management Overview:
The Global Business Solutions Center Project Management team is built upon strong contributors with leadership abilities, consulting mindsets and strong project management skills. The group acts as an internal consultant supporting the GBSC which today supports four primary verticals: Finance, People and Capability, Law, Franchise & Integrity and Sales & Marketing.

The primary responsibility will be supporting the GBSC and Finance PM team in developing and driving key system implementation & transformation across the center. This includes assisting with strategy development, researching trends, establishing best practices, leading key initiatives / projects and ad hoc reviews.

Role:
• Lead and manage complex system implementation and business transformation initiatives, ensuring seamless delivery across planning, monitoring, execution, and implementation phases. Assist in developing long range strategies that drive scalable business growth and operational maturity. Support departmental budget planning, strategic direction, and labor spend governance while providing strong leadership, direction, and supervision to project staff.
• Build and develop high performing project teams, ensuring personnel possess the appropriate skills, technical depth, and professional behaviors suited to a transformation environment. Communicate performance expectations clearly and conduct performance reviews. Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, and termination decisions.
• Provide advanced business, functional, and technical expertise in support of systems development and transformation programs, with emphasis on SAP (ERP) and Order Management solutions. Collaborate closely with project teams and business stakeholders to define deliverables, functional capabilities, and technical requirements throughout the full project lifecycle. Ensure projects are appropriately staffed, trained, and managed to meet business objectives.
• Oversee project execution within approved resource and budget guidelines, offering technical guidance, solutions recommendations, and advisory support that enables successful systems development and implementation. Participate in requirements definition, process mapping, solution design, and impact assessment activities to ensure alignment with business and technology strategies.
• Drive end to end delivery excellence, including development and maintenance of integrated project plans, schedule and budget adherence, status reporting, issue and risk escalations, test planning, user acceptance coordination, defect remediation, and adherence to transformation and governance methodologies.
• Manage key relationships with stakeholders across GTO and business teams, including SAP functional owners, Order Management platform users, technical leads, and project requesters. Deliver clear, executive ready status updates and insights to senior leadership.
• Track, resolve, and communicate project, business, or release related issues, ensuring alignment across parallel and interdependent project efforts. Prioritize and coordinate multiple initiatives across transformation workstreams.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Exhibit strong delegation, follow through, problem solving, and team engagement skills.

All About You:
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of experience; advanced degree preferred.
• PMP or other project management certifications strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in system implementation, ERP transformation, and large scale digital or operational transformation programs, including hands on experience delivering SAP and/or Order Management system deployments.
• Proven experience developing and executing strategy, organizational change, and transformation roadmaps.
• Extensive knowledge of Mastercard, the payments ecosystem, and financial services operations.
• Experience in management consulting, financial services, e Business, or related fields supporting technology enabled business change.
• Understanding of credit and debit card operations and related transaction processing flows.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, and process optimization skills.
• Advanced leadership, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation capabilities, with a strong reputation for building trusted internal and external relationships.
• Demonstrated success managing staff and delivering complex projects or system implementations on time and within budget.
• Extensive knowledge of project management processes, structured methodologies, and enterprise delivery frameworks; familiarity with SAP Activate, Agile, and hybrid delivery models is a plus.
• Experience with project planning tools and system implementation toolsets.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; able to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Exceptional organizational, planning, prioritization, and multi tasking abilities.
• Strong relationship building and stakeholder management capabilities across both business and technology teams.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
