The Customer Solutions Center sits at the intersection of product, services, marketing and, most importantly, our customers and prospects. We have a front-row seat for how our capabilities are driving impact in the industry. From our core products that are at the heart of everyday commerce to our newest solutions in digital, security, and services, Solutions Architects play a vital role in driving influence and revenue for Mastercard.
As the Director, Solutions Architect – Cobrand New Business Development, you will work directly with our Business Development team on RFPs, pitches, and customer conversations focused on de novo programs and brand conversions bringing net new GDV growth to the business. You will identify customer needs and map them to Mastercard products and services and support the story-telling process across a range of traditional cobrand merchants. You will also work on highly visible strategic projects that will drive long-term, foundational impact on the organization.
About the Role
• Reports to the Vice President, Solutions Architect, Market Development
• Aligns with the EVP of Business Development supporting new business development across Cobrands
• Focuses on opportunities that drive preference for Mastercard and enable our solutions through these partners
• Understands Mastercard's products and solutions and is able to convey the capabilities in customer interactions
• Collaborates with Business Development teams to identify customer needs and opportunities; recommends needs-based solutions in coordination with Product, Innovation, Services, and Marketing solutions across the Mastercard toolbox, knitting together assets in narratives that can be readily deployed to address key customer “pain points.”
• Drives (often data-driven) thought leadership around topics that are top-of-mind in the market with a focus on competitive differentiation
• Supports RFP responses for new opportunities, is able to lead/facilitate the development of pitch narrative and content
• Develops storyboards that inform the development of demos that bring our holistic Cobrand product and services vision to life
• Provides informal “voice of the market” input to inform internal Product, Innovation, Services and Marketing stakeholders
All About You
• A problem solver, keen to understand customer challenges – inquisitive, detail oriented, and able to simplify complexity
• Foundational knowledge of the payments ecosystem, and understand Mastercard's role in it
• Demonstrated ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, and derive meaningful implications and recommendations from said data
• Familiar with one or more of the following Mastercard areas:
• Product (Consumer Credit, Small Business Credit, Debit)
• Digital Solutions (MDES, Push Provisioning, Digital Wallets, UX journeys)
• Innovation (Mastercard Labs)
• Services (Loyalty Solutions, Consulting, Information Solutions, Managed Services, Fraud and Security), and
• Marketing (Priceless Platforms)
• Excellent storyteller and communicator
