Title and Summary

Director, Technical Program Management This role will support the Economic Intelligence Program, driving our collaboration and development efforts with Mastercard's suite of economic products and collaboration with the Mastercard Economics Institute in general. In addition to managing a team of three TPMs, this role will be responsible for managing incoming initiatives, prioritization and capacity planning, and program operations, including building out processes around data QA, the publishing of reports to clients, coordinating content production, and tracking progress against our KPIs. In addition, this person will be a key part in our relationship management with multiple other Programs and groups within Mastercard.

We are looking for an experienced director of technical program management to join our team and help us build towards the future. Our Technical Program Managers (TPM) conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work across the portfolio in our scrum execution model. In this role, you will oversee our program's major development initiatives, drive and implement process improvements around program operations, and manage a team of junior TPMs. You'll collaborate closely with engineering leads, product owners and managers, and data scientists to define project scope, highlight dependencies, remove blockers, and deliver high quality, timely results to our clients. You will be a key link between our development teams and the Mastercard Economics Institute, helping drive scale and modernization efforts to bring their analytics and insights to clients at scale. In this role you will dive as deep as you want into the tech stack, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems. You will drive the execution of projects which span multiple teams and integrations, reporting meaningful status along the way.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Successfully lead major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications.
• Work closely with other technical leads on assigned projects to assist in the coordination of design and implementation tasks.
• Plan, design, and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices.
• Anticipate potential roadblocks and ensure cross functional teams
• Design and build technical roadmaps to optimize services and functions with a focus on analytic robustness and time to market
• Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
• Be an integral part of our Agile development processes, including prioritization, scoping, requirement gathering, and release planning
• Have strong ownership of your team's software and are deep in the operations, dependencies, and runtime
• Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively across roles and geographies

ALL ABOUT YOU

· Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy
· Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
· Experience with executing projects from start to finish, with requirement gathering, project planning, and update management.
· Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platforms capabilities and underlying technologies.
· Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
· Can debate the delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers
· Can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity
· Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
· BS in engineering, computer science, project management or related discipline.
