Lead Product Manager - Technical About Mastercard & Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES)

Overview
The MDES Partner Interface & API team is looking for a strong technical person for Lead Product Manager-Technical role who will act as the link between development and product teams for the delivery of new features and enhancements to the MDES platform.

Responsible for elaboration of features and decomposition of stories from Product/Platform roadmap, derived from business needs/requirements, market opportunities, and technology trends.

Works with Architects, Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirements

Refine user stories to be walked with engineering teams and clarify/follow up on open queries.

Ensures business requirements are accurately captured through collaboration with service owners, regional leads and Mastercard clients as part of the elaboration sessions.

Role

Elaboration of business requirements for new or enhanced features for the MDES platform and API interfaces

Identifies gaps and charters new platform capabilities as required

Good understanding of the platform Business, non-functional and functional requirements for a platform product.

Collaboration with service owners and regional leads to compare features for competitive review to assess prioritization within a platform product release.

Identifies innovations or performs test and learn experiments to create features that add more business and customer value for a platform product

Contributes near-term input (quarterly) for the platform product portfolio and roadmap

Recommends trade-off decisions on platform product features to support prioritizing releases.

Uses runtime metrics of their services in market as a feedback loop in to the backlog and balances the priorities against new feature requests

Exhibits expertise within platform feature area and coordinates with interdependent teams

Digests business customer requirements (user stories, use cases) and platform requirements for a platform feature set

Recommends design changes to support frictionless consumer experience.

Determines release goals for the platform and prioritizes assigned features according to business and platform value, adjusting throughout implementation as needed

Continuously monitors development at the feature level to remove blockers.

Reviews product demo with the development team against acceptance criteria for the feature set

Prepares launches and monitors platform performances, adoption, and operational health for feature sets

Identifies issues that will keep the platform features from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and communicates to leadership

Supports and participates in post-launch reviews and ensures feedback is reincorporated into the feature

Works with internal teams and customer service to identify, classify, and prioritize feature-level customer issues

Develops and implements new metrics into measurement techniques; works with development teams to develop reports to monitor them

Independently identifies and researches anomalous performance; escalates findings to senior management

Coordinates internal forums to collect and identify feature-level development opportunities

Identifies feature risks from business and customer feedback and in-depth analysis of operational performance; shares with senior leadership

Establishes a network within the organization; begins to build internal and external networks

About you
Understands product development and GTM cycle.
Exhibits working knowledge of agile/SAFe methodologies.
Ability to read and write SQL queries to perform data analysis.
Ability to read code to drive better development outcomes.
Communicates with Architects and Product Managers with ease. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
