Title and Summary

Manager, Software Engineering Overview:

Position with extensive understanding and knowledge of software operations with solid knowledge of required services. Provides management direction and recommends strategic directions based on established policy. Leads and manages staff and assures staffing, training, and objective setting. Recommends policy changes and implementations. Interacts with developers and requestors to identify scope of project.

Role:
• Manage software requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead project planning and control to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Maintain approved staffing levels and ensure adequate team coverage.
• Oversee staff training, cross-training, and professional development.
• Communicate goals, objectives, and performance expectations clearly.
• Implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
• Develop, review, and implement policy changes with minimal disruption.
• Approve and oversee revisions to operational processes and procedures.
• Recommend and manage the annual cost center budget.
• Ensure expenditures remain within approved budget limits.
• Recommend strategic direction and policy changes to leadership.
• Identify and escalate operational or business issues that may impact service delivery or future initiatives.

All About You:
• 8+ years of experience in software solutions delivery.
• Proven experience in budget and financial management.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Object Oriented Programming with Java, Spring Framework, and developing Restful APIs.
• Skilled in preparing and delivering executive-level presentations to both technical and business audiences.
• Experience mentoring and developing talent in high-performance environments.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
• Advanced knowledge of business operations or functional areas.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage senior technical staff.
• Effective communicator who fosters collaboration across organizational levels.
• Strategic thinker capable of influencing direction and leading large or complex projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, with the ability to drive iterative delivery and cross-team collaboration.
• Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to influence stakeholders across product, engineering, and acquisition teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
