Product Manager Overview

Do you want to be part of a cool, dynamic and collaborative team delivering innovation and improving customer experience for digital products for Mastercard? Are you ready to work push the boundaries of what's possible in the digital, mobile and e-commerce space? As part of the products team, you will play a role in Mastercard's mission to tokenize every transaction, through the management and implementation of new programs that scale and enrich our tokenization, cryptography and dynamic data offerings.

Mastercard's digital payments strategy is accelerating the transition from card payments to digital payments, using mobile phones and other devices to support issuers, merchants, and wallet providers. Consumers are expanding their range of digital activity across channels/devices every day, and you can be a key contributor in driving this evolution.

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager (PM) to join our Mastercard Digital Enablement Services (MDES) team and take responsibility for the development and implementation of large scale product transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate would exhibit core product management skillset, in-depth understanding of technical product delivery processes (software and managed services), including but not limited to end-to-end management of business and non-functional requirements. The candidate should have a customer-centric mindset and a strong stakeholder management experience. The role requires engagement with regional stakeholders, MDES P&E colleagues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as the Customer Data Management team and the Switch Configuration Management team. Requires ability to operate across geographical and time zones. Additionally, the role will involve preparing support materials & delivery of training for support teams, along with other essential Product Management tasks.

Role

The Product Manager (PM) lead will be responsible for the development and management of products/services within the MDES Issuer Enablement and Customer Onboarding domains. This includes B2B customer onboarding, automation, self-service, and enterprise-level platforms and applications. The purpose of the role includes: optimization of customer experience (internal and external), enabling new functionality, transformation of legacy applications/ services, modernization of underlying technology, implementation of strategic product enhancements.

This role will require strong skills and experience in leading cross-functional engagement and building collaboration with the engineering teams, solution designers, UX designers, technical product managers, product owners, and PMO teams. The role will require strong discipline, ability operate within the established frameworks, processes and ceremonies, meet timelines, and comply with the governance requirements. The candidate should be comfortable scoping, planning, and executing large development efforts as well as small rapid product feature enhancements.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps
- Manage product development projects through the end-to-end product lifecycle
- Define product requirements / roadmaps based on voice of customer and market inputs
- Manage and maintain existing products, including internal solutions/platforms and customer-facing applications and services
- Conduct market research and opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts
- Perform analysis of products/technology vs customer needs and business requirements
- Define and manage business and technical requirements, UX requirements, design specifications and non-functional requirements for product development / enhancement / modernization
- Scope, plan, and executing large development efforts as well as small rapid product feature enhancements
- Build collaboration and manage internal stakeholders and external partners/ vendors
- Manage the relationships of technical resources and the Global Technology Organization to maintain and build our platforms
- Partner with key stakeholders across the organization, including product owners, solution designers, UX designers, engineering teams, program management office, business operations and support teams, technical writers, commercialization teams etc. to develop and deliver product enhancements
- Coordinate with customer teams, customers and third parties to develop product strategies and possible enhancements of existing product offerings
- Monitor product performance, provide feedback, define or approve/disapprove change control processes, and manage vendor relationships
- Engage in idea generation, concept validation, business case development, and in some instances financial modelling and planning
- Prepare product support materials for internal teams and external customers
- Deliver product training for internal support teams and external customers
- Ensure compliance with the company policies, processes, and governance
- Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to other team members

This role is situated within the MDES Issuer Enablement and Onboarding Services team, which is a part of the global MDES product organization. The role will report to a Director, Product Management.

Role requirements:

- Extensive product development and management experience in B2B applications, platforms and services
- Able to lead large-scale technology solutions development and/or transformation projects
- Strong product knowledge and capability (software and managed services)
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities
- High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive individual with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment
- Strong organizational, planning and execution skills and ‘can-do' and ‘will-do' attitude
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative and organization and project management skills
- Skilled in working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams and vendors
- Able to interact and coordinate effectively with internal and external business partners
- Business acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results to the customer and Mastercard
- Skilled in operating in complex matrix structures and working in fast paced environments with different teams, across different time zones, and delivering multiple projects to deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant area or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
- 5+ years professional experience with demonstrable track record
- Skilled in using Confluence, Jira, AHA, Domo, Figma or similar tools
- Experience with some of the following: Financial Services, Payments industry, Digital Commerce / e-Commerce, Cloud, Big Data, Data Science/Analytics, Microservices is a big plus
