Overview

The Treasury function at Mastercard is responsible for safeguarding and optimizing the company's financial resources globally. Within Treasury, the Global Settlement Services team manages the movement of funds related to Mastercard transactions, maintains relationships with commercial and central settlement bank partners, engages with regulatory bodies and ensures operational excellence across all settlement activities. The team facilitates settlement of ~$25 billion daily activity in 80+ currencies.

We are seeking a Regulatory Manager – Settlement, Treasury to help maintain the stability, resilience, and regulatory compliance of Mastercard's global settlement environment. This role will support our mission by strengthening regulatory readiness, managing interactions with Regulatory Affairs, Legal and Compliance teams, and ensuring alignment with global standards governing financial market infrastructures.

This position serves as a key connector across the organization, monitoring regulatory developments, coordinating responses, and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of controls and documentation required to meet evolving regulatory expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical discipline, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and support high‑visibility engagements across the company.

Role

The Regulatory Manager – Settlement, Treasury will be a critical independent contributor with significant responsibilities supporting Mastercard's regulatory engagements related to Treasury. These include tracking and meeting regulatory requirements across the Mastercard group, supporting internal stakeholders to interpret, communicate, and address regulatory requirements impacting Settlement and coordinating responses to Settlement-focused regulatory inquiries.

This is a high visibility role supporting the Regulatory Director – Settlement, Treasury and working closely with various teams within Treasury and numerous functions including Legal, Finance, and Risk Management. The wide scope of activities makes this an ideal role for learning Mastercard Treasury and the broader settlement function. The role's primary focus will be on Treasury regulatory responsibilities within the Asia Pacific (AP) region, working in close partnership with the Vice President - AP Regional Treasurer. In addition, the role will contribute to global regulatory initiatives, providing visibility and collaboration across the wider Treasury and Settlement landscape. The position is based in Gurugram, India.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Serving as a point of contact for regulatory inquiries, examinations, and audits related to Settlement and coordinating responses. The incumbent would be key point of contact for all Asia Pacific regulatory matters related to Settlement
• Acting as a Settlement liaison in internal meetings in which regulatory developments are monitored globally
• Overseeing the timely and accurate preparation and submission of regulatory reports related to Settlement activities, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements across jurisdictions
• Work with Settlement Risk & Control to ensure the maintenance of comprehensive documentation of Settlement processes, controls, and compliance efforts, facilitating regulatory examinations, and inquiries related to global regulatory compliance
• Supporting Settlement's engagement and responses to regulators, by coordinating responses with subject matter experts in Settlement and other supporting functions
• Supporting Legal Entity Governance for Treasury and Settlement matters. This includes creating materials and presenting at Asia Pacific entities' Board and committees on Treasury and Settlement governance
• Coordinating and supporting the relationship with the global Law and Franchise and Regulatory teams at Mastercard to address ongoing and ad hoc inquiries
• Coordinating across the Settlement team to ensure that processes and procedures in each function meet established principles for financial market infrastructures as applicable
• Supporting the Settlement team with special projects as needed

All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should have:

• Significant experience managing regulatory correspondence on Treasury and Settlement/Payment matters
• Experience with treasury‑related regulatory compliance requirements across APAC regulators like MAS, HKMA, ASIC, JFSA, RBI, PBOC is highly valuable while not mandatory
• Advanced degree or MBA preferred. Prior Treasury Operations, Settlement or front-office banking experience preferred
• Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong project management skills including superior organization, planning, and follow through. Candidates will manage both projects and monthly/quarterly responsibilities
• Positive can-do orientation and a desire to grow professionally
• Robust understanding of payment and settlement concepts
