Title and Summary

Senior Platform Engineer (IBM AIX) Overview
The AIX support team within the Compute and Storage Mainframe & HP Nonstop program is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to drive efficient support of the AIX operating system runing on IBM Power hardware by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
Role
In this technology focused system support role, you will:
• Partner with other infrastructure and applciation teams to drive efficient operating system and platform support, solve problems, and deliver solutions to deliver the greatest system availability possible.
• Develops, builds, and maintains Mastercard technologies and associated software and hardware soecifically for AIX and IBM Power hardware.
• Resolves problems of diverse scopes as they arise, escalating complex issues where analysis of the situation requires in-depth evaluation and judgement
• Performs implementations to optimize system/platform performance, efficiency, and capacity; may guide others on implementation and troubleshooting activities
• Supports holistic compliance posture which includes identifying risks, escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions
• Drafts and reviews status reports and troubleshooting guides, carrying out project plans to ensure project milestones are met and progress is successfully communicated
All About You
• Command and fluency of the AIX unix operating system
• Possess system analytics and trouble shooting skils
• Ability to script and automate system tasks
• Familiarity with other infrastructure technologies including but not limited to TCPIP networking, other Unix variants, storage administration, and backup/recovery
• Successful candidate should be highly motivaed and ability to complete tasks with little supervision
