About the Role:

Responsible for the analysis, design, full-stack development, and delivery of software solutions.

Define requirements for new applications and customization adhering to MasterCard standards, processes and best practices.

Develop, customize, and test applications to integrate Mastercard's specifications.

Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical training to other team members.

Role:

- Plan, design, develop, and deliver technical solutions that meet business requirements in alignment with Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices.
- Lead day-to-day development and maintenance activities to meet SLAs, ensuring high-quality, scalable, cost-effective solutions with rapid time to market.
- Own the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements definition, design, development, testing strategy, performance benchmarking, release planning, deployment, and contingency/back-out plans, feasibility study, cost and time analysis and detailed estimates.
- Provide production support, including incident management, root cause analysis, remediation, and participation in on-call support rotations.
- Select and apply appropriate technical frameworks, tools, and delivery methodologies based on project and technology needs.
- Maintain and evolve solution architectures and technology roadmaps.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Participate in Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and collaborate with vendors to support product and technology selection.
- Coordinate with offshore development teams to manage daily activities and delivery.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards; continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
- Ensure adequate coverage across Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing, and performance testing.
- Conduct quality inspections and reviews throughout the SDLC (requirements, design, code, security) to ensure compliance with Mastercard standards.
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical training to team members, including knowledge-sharing sessions on new technologies and practices.


All About You:

Strong hands-on experience with:

- Backend Development: Java, Spring Boot
- Frontend Development: Angular (preferred), Node.js or React required
- CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
- Oracle/SQL
- Messaging technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka or equivalent)
- Monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and end-to-end automated testing frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience building and supporting complex, enterprise-scale systems (financial services experience preferred).
- Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, design patterns, and modern development methodologies.
- Ability to take on new initiatives and work effectively in a matrixed, geographically distributed team environment.
- Possesses strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $115,000 - $184,000 USD
