Senior Vice President Technology Connectivity Platform Services Overview:

The Role: What's it all about and what we expect you to do day-to-day
- Will report into the EVP for Customer Connectivity and will be responsible for leading, serving and enabling engineering teams who will help create, design, build, test and deploy applications at global scale.
- Will provide senior hands on leadership to large, diverse, engineering teams who deliver change and development to the core platforms supporting multiple applications in the portfolio– i.e. File Transfer, Gateways, Cloud First.
- Will be responsible to lead teams based globally who support all of Mastercard's Applications engineering capability – working within the Product & Engineering framework and setting direction, tone and strategy.
- Will have overall responsibility for the engineering excellence of applications platform, supporting the overall governance approach and its implementation within the application delivery teams with target to delivery continuously.
- Will manage departmental budget and tracking against finance reports.
- Will understand, adhere and improve the company delivery methodology and industry standards where applicable. Will be a leader and positive role model for the Mastercard Way and Product and Engineering ethos
- Will be a Technical leader who is an exemplary practitioner of their craft and a pragmatic visionary.
- Will make a lasting impact that echoes through the technology, the services we deliver to our customers, and the company.
- Will work on Mastercard's hardest problems, serving and enabling teams who are building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our Engineering Principles and business needs.
- Will remain hands-on 50% of time and lead by example and attract teams across to come to them for engineering leadership, enablement and coaching.
- Will be an End-to-End technical leader who brings considerable experience designing and implementing digital payment solutions using a broad range of technologies.
- Will provide strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
- Will build and lead multiple high performing, highly cohesive engineering teams
- Will partner closely with product management to define the roadmaps, develop and deliver on new services to address market and customer needs.
- Talent leadership: coach team members to their maximum potential by providing objective and actionable career guidance and opportunities; identify talent gaps; recruit and retain high quality technology talent

All About You and What you need to bring:
- Leadership ability, providing strategic direction to multiple teams and/or functional areas.
- Ability to own responsibility for a large strategic program.
- Hands on coding expertise in Java or GO ecosystems to mostly write non-feature code that enables compliance and architecture as code, leading us toward continuous delivery.
- Ability to enable collaboration across scrum teams, products and departments by coding interfaces, Consumer driven contracts, tests and architecture fitness functions.
- You are a top SME within MA and a thought leader in industry.
- Experience in managing approved staffing levels are maintained, departmental and staff education, training and cross training needs are met across 10 – 15 scrum teams.
- Experienced in enabling teams to innovate at scale and drive revenue through product engineering excellence and capabilities like Continuous delivery and Cloud first.
- Ensure that staff has the skills and behaviors to perform tasks fully through effective communication of goals, objectives, performance and, as necessary, improvement plans.
- Review, approve and ensure the implementation of new or revised operational processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in creating of new products and more effective, efficient ways of working while responding to operational and business concerns or issues relative to future business programs, projects, or enhancements to ensure consistent delivery of quality services.

- Take on organization-wide and public speaking engagements and publish white papers and blogs on relevant and emerging technical topics.
- Consult across teams and across program lines to identify synergies and reuse opportunities.
- Conduct technical interviews for hiring engineering staff and raising the performance bar.
- Mentor and guide software engineers and lead in the team to improve engineering productivity, quality, and technology policy compliance.
- Engage with external technical communities to extend our reach and benefit from the discovery outside of Mastercard and our industry.

Total Base Pay Range

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
