Brief Overview of Department
The Asia Pacific communications team oversees and manages all aspects of communication across the region, including public and employee relations, reputation management, executive positioning and thought leadership, and issues and crisis management. In support of AP regional business objectives, the team sets the strategic communications agenda and drives its execution in collaboration with business units and divisional communication leads in-market.

Context and scope of team/role:
The candidate would provide planning, writing, research, creative and administrative support to the Asia Pacific communications team. The candidate will gain exposure in the planning and execution of corporate communication strategies and activities, collaborating across lines of businesses in Mastercard and with external agencies and freelancers in the delivery of integrated communications initiatives.

Specific projects / major accountabilities, expected deliverables and timeline
• Think creatively to produce new communications concepts and ideas, while working with available assets.
• Provide administration and coordination support to the regional team with a focus on internal communications, events, social and digital initiatives.
• Liaise with teams across the business to learn and identify opportunities to support the broader business objectives through effective communication.
• Provide day to day logistical support and assist with the management of events such as employee townhalls, networking sessions, media events, conferences, volunteering initiatives and others as required.

• Gain broad knowledge of multiple business units in Mastercard
• Gain exposure to senior executives, global and divisional communications teams and their roles and responsibilities
• Work with divisional communication teams across all AP markets
• Understand how the communication team partners with external agencies and freelancers to develop various deliverables

All About You:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience, with compelling and demonstrable social and digital related experience
• Impactful writing and editing skills with a commitment to the highest quality standards
• Keen eye for visual communications and graphic design
• Strong team player; possesses good interpersonal skills/EQ with a high level of enthusiasm to collaborate with cross functional teams.
• Superb project and time management skills
• Highly self-motivated, meticulous and detail-oriented with a passion for content creation
• Hands-on, organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Creative and keen to contribute ideas
• Ability to think laterally, anticipating the needs of the business
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and design and video editing tools like Canva, plus others
• Digitally-savvy and able to learn and work on multiple software systems and content platforms (Salesforce, Zoom, Teams, Social Studio, plus others)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
