General Summary of Position
Responsible for providing competent professional nursing care using the nursing process in the Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT) services. Coordinates and ensures that all necessary medical information is obtained and all preoperative requirements are completed prior to the day of surgery. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Medical Group Anesthesia's (MMGA) philosophy policies procedures and standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required and
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred
- 1-2 years Pre-operative or medical/surgical care experience. Experience with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) is preferred. Progressively more responsible job-related nursing experience preferably supporting multi-site coverage from one location preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current RN Licensure in the District of Columbia Maryland or Virginia as required by work location(s) Upon Hire required and
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
- Ability to perform the nursing technologies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills including effective listening skills and service recovery.
- Ability to set priorities and work under stress.
- Must be flexible adaptive and willing to take on new challenges.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $89,065.00 - USD $162,801.00 /Yr.
