About the Job

Physician will provide patient care services on a full-time basis as assigned by Employer, including:

            (a)        Direct patient care services on an inpatient and outpatient basis. 

            (b)        Subspecialty consultations and follow-up.

            (c)        Diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.

(d)        Assist with the administration and provision of appropriate attending coverage of emergencies.

2.         Physician will assist with administrative duties as assigned by Employer, including:

            (a)        Assist with the supervision of staff;

            (b)        Assist with the professional and fiscal management of the practice;

(c)        Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure practice's compliance with all external regulatory agencies including, but not limited to the Joint Commission, PRO, and the Department of Regulatory Affairs;

 (d)       Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that clinical resources are utilized efficiently and in accordance with responsible clinical and fiscal management principles; and 

(e)        Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure quality patient care delivery. 

Physician shall accept such duties and responsibilities as Employer, acting by and through its governing board and other duly authorized officers, may from time to time reasonably determine and will participate in and support a fair and equitable distribution of consults, surgical cases and on-call responsibilities as reasonably determined by Employer's governing board.  Physician shall use all reasonable efforts to perform his/her obligations and duties pursuant to this Agreement in such a manner as to enable Employer and MedStar to render quality medical care.  In addition, Physician shall provide on-call coverage on nights, weekends and holidays as determined by Physicians at the practice location in an equitable manner.
