Summary of Position:
MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Manager for Podiatric Surgery. This role is responsible for providing administrative leadership and direction for medical education and faculty affairs for MedStar Podiatric Surgery. This includes oversight and management of resident and fellow human resource issues accreditation compliance budgeting operational activity and program growth / improvements. It also includes management of faculty academic appointments and promotions along with faculty development activities. Reports directly to the Residency and Fellowship Program Directors and the Assistant Vice President GME.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and administers the Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency and Foot & Ankle Research Fellowship programs, overseeing accreditation, reporting, and compliance with CPME and nationally accepted standards; serves as liaison with podiatric medical schools, external training sites, and accrediting bodies.

  • Manages all educational operations and evaluations, including recruitment and interviews, clerkships, didactic scheduling, CME coordination, outside rotations and PLAs, New Innovations evaluations, case logs, duty hours, FTE tracking, Medicare cost reporting support, alumni records, and verification requests.

  • Leads program evaluation and quality improvement efforts, coordinating Program Evaluation Committee activities, Annual Program Evaluations, action plans, clinical competency and education committees, and participation in education-related committees to support continuous program development.

  • Coordinates GME collaboration and special events, working with MedStar GME on onboarding, reimbursements, and orientation (≤10% effort), and managing graduations, retreats, residency fairs, departmental orientations, and other program events.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-4 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience 

This position has a hiring range of

USD $65,062.00 - USD $117,291.00 /Yr.
