General Summary of Position
Responsible for all aspects of the Materials Management Equipment Management process

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Gathers and assists in compiling financial statistical data and reports for the department as needed.
  • Acts as liaison between Nursing Biomed Distribution Specialists and Vendors.
  • Validates invoices from rental companies and researches discrepancies when needed.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient billing days for equipment use.
  • Maintains accurate records pertaining to equipment distribution in order to locate all rental and hospital owned equipment at any given time.
  • Maintains accurate par levels of equipment necessary to support patient care.
  • Is responsible for ordering and returning rental equipment when hospital census is up or specialty equipment is needed
  • Meets regularly with Nursing to ensure Equipment Distribution is meeting the needs of the clinical staff and patient care
  • Provides continued education to Distribution Specialists on the proper decontamination of the equipment as well as personal protective equipment
  • Is responsible for ensuring all equipment is functional and monitors service dating in order to provide operational equipment to end users. Works in conjunction with Biomed when repairs or servicing is needed
  • Conducts daily hospital rounds to ensure that soiled or unused equipment is not stagnant in any location and requests for pickup when necessary
  • Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all inclusive

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required or
  • Bachelor's degree Business preferred

Experience

  • 1-2 years Two - four years experience working with hospital support equipment. required and
  • Requires the ability to use excel and word required and
  • Has knowledge of the decontamination process and blood borne pathogens or infection control risks required and
  • Has experience with vendor relations required and

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Detail-oriented. Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills; Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change; Ability to write reports
  • Current knowledge and understanding of database management and spreadsheet applications
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills ability to organize and prioritize tasks and work in a stressful environment
  • MUST BE CUSTOMER FOCUSED WITH A SERVICE ATTITUDE

This position has a hiring range of

USD $49,192.00 - USD $87,422.00 /Yr.
