General Summary of Position
The Supply Chain Technician performs daily tasks to support the successful functioning of the hospital supply chain operational requirements. This includes providing customer service to all internal customers to assure patients are able to be cared for in a timely manner.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to needs of all internal customer requests in a friendly and helpful manner. Provides needed supplies in a timely manner. Identifies ways to provide efficiencies with the processes or system. Notifies supervisor of any issues relating to inventory levels, quality or upcoming needs
  • Selection and completion of case cart requests for perioperative procedures. Communicates regularly with OR staff to ensure proper supplies are picked and delivered as needed. Completes surgical case cart staging. Performs return and restocking activities. Communicates with Sterile Processing regarding needed instrumentation for the following day.
  • Perform inventory distribution processes including the 2-bin process. Appropriately replenishes bins to approved PAR amount Keeps nursing units clean and organized. Updates bin labels as needed.
  • Replenish orders using the handheld device. Performs data entry for all inventory items. Updates stock issues from warehouse to nursing units.
  • Delivery of special request orders throughout the hospital and Physician Office Buildings to the original requestor and obtains delivery receipt with the handheld device.
  • Processes all outgoing mail utilizing the postage meter. Distributes mail to appropriate recipients.
  • Perform receiving functions utilizing the handheld device. Inspects packages for damages. Verifies accuracy of shipment for correct item(s) and quantities. Enters receipts into the system and prints the delivery ticket. Stages packages for delivery to appropriate department/individual.
  • Assist in receiving, sorting and distribution of the evening distributor truck to the perioperative departments. Breaks down pallets to OR, PACU, Pre-Op, Endo and SPD. Delivers sterile product to appropriate departments.
  • Enter purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department.
  • Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff, supervisors, and managers both inside and outside the unit.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required

    Experience

    • Prior work experience not required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to read, write and speak English
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers
    • Customer service focus
    • Willingness in learning and continuous growth


    This position has a hiring range of $18 - $28.73
