General Summary of Position
Responsible for all aspects of the cash management function, including the development and management of systems for the effective collection of revenues and payment of obligations, generally through an established network of internal and external corporate banking relationships. Ensures the ability to meet all payment obligations through working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees all banking account activities, including the opening and closing of accounts. Processes and maintains all banking account information including signature cards, resolutions and agreements, ensuring compliance with corporate policy and procedures.
  • Negotiates, implements and administers a wide variety of banking-related services and bank products, including depository accounts, controlled disbursement account, lockbox, wire transfer, direct deposit, and other traditional banking services required by the corporation.
  • Implements controls and procedures to minimize fraud and unauthorized disbursements.
  • Establishes and maintains a System of lockboxes.
  • Manages all corporate cash management banking relationships.
  • Reviews monthly bank fees; Compares monthly fee statements against pricing schedule; ensures that unit charges are as negotiated and fee structure is unchanged.
  • Benchmarks banking services on a periodic and routine basis, including quality of service, the satisfaction of end-users, and pricing relative to industry levels.
  • Manages the daily cash position to ensure operational needs are funded while maximizing cash available for short-term investment; Oversees the reporting of daily cash balances; Acts as User/administrator on all accounts on all bank's client portals; Inputs wire/ACH transfers and managers payment templates.
  • Provides accurate and timely information on cash flow, receipts and disbursements to the various internal constituencies that require banking information
  • Projects cash needs and balances periodically and annually to ensure sufficient liquidity, and to allow for the maximization of investment income and minimization of interest expense. Provides appropriate analysis of cash variances to forecasted amounts.
  • Leads the cash management due diligence and implementation of all services related to all acquisitions and divestitures of businesses; Conducts all cash management due diligence including review of existing account structures and develops recommended new structures for Payroll, Accounts Payable, Depository accounts, Lockbox Services, Credit Card terminals for every legal entity and every location in each acquisition; Leads transition of banking services including identification of optimal structure for Payroll and Accounts Payable accounts, Depository accounts, Lockbox Services, Credit Card terminals at every location acquired; Coordinates with every location and the bank on the transition of services; Reviews legal agreements for services; coordinate Legal Department's review; Drafts signature cards and coordinate execution.
  • Works collaboratively with all areas of the organization impacted by banking services to promote efficiency and effectiveness of the cash management system. This includes accounts payable, patient financial services, cashier's offices, purchasing, payroll, general accounting, legal affairs, cafeteria operations and unconsolidated subsidiary operations.
  • Through interaction, training and service, serves as an expert on banking services and an advocate for effective and efficient cash management services.
  • Takes a lead role in the management of the system's compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)
  • Assists in drafting of debt compliance documents, debit issuance documents, and internal and external presentations.
  • Manages the company's standby letters of credit program, including the issuance of new letters of credit and renewal of existing letters of credit.
  • Manages the corporate credit card program, including the establishment of new accounts, monitoring of activity, and development of enhancements to the existing program; Coordinates the maintenance of the existing program with Supply Chain and AP.
  • Administers the system's purchasing card program in coordination with Supply Chain.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in finance or related degree required and
    • Masters of Business Administration preferred

    Experience

    • 5-7 years Experience, either in a corporate or tax-exempt cash management position, or similar experience with a commercial bank required and
    • Familiarity with bank cash management systems required

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certified Cash Manager or Certified Treasury Professional designations preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated In-depth knowledge of financial statements, and financial statement analysis, including an ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on the financial statements.
    • Working knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange and its impact on the payment mechanism, including knowledge of ACH and other EDI-related formats and standards.
    • Thorough understanding of banking and cash management through education and hands-on experience.
    • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external constituencies.
