Overview:

• Knowledge- Responsible for effective and efficient business office functions including the electronic billing of claims, paper claims, and resolution of failed claims.- Be able to answer questions regarding the history and activities on patients claims
• Resolves issues and re-submits claims as necessary. Communicates effectively with applicable departments in regards to claims processing.- Performs other work duties as assigned.Productivity-
• Maintains daily work assigned to ensure claims are submitted timely and A/R days thresholds are consistently met. 
• Maintains or exceeds established productivity standards on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Maintains assigned workqueues to ensure established thresholds are consistently met. 
• Completes assignments in the prescribed time periods and with efficiency and attention to detail. Quality- Maintains acceptable quality standards per department requirements. 
• Communicates effectively with co-workers to ensure assignments are completed timely.
• Accurately and efficiently bill claims on a daily basis.Communication-
• Works effectively with other co-workers to accomplish work and departmental projects. 
• Interacts effectively with other departments as necessary. - Demonstrates positive and professional communications skills. System Proficiency- Uses and demonstrates an understanding of the patient accounting computer system.-
• Maintains technical knowledge and skills of all computer applications, including but not limited to EPIC, SSI, PNC, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel. -
• Maintains current EPIC proficiency level for applicable role (EUPA End User Proficiency Assessment).ServiceWorks effectively with other co-workers to accomplish work tasks and complete department projects.
• MissionPerforms duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

•  High school diploma or GED:
• Experience: Two to three years related experience required.Certifications:  Must have ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, and perform all daily assignments with consistent accuracy.
• Ability to use logic in determining correct document processing and to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be detail oriented. Required to maintain strict confidentiality.
