The Advanced Practice Clinical Dietitian uses advanced practice skills, education and experience for clinical leadership and responsibilities including: Assigned clinical and patient care area of responsibility; clinical collaboration within multidisciplinary team including responsibility for standard operations and evidence-based medicine to meet regulatory compliance.
This position may or may not lead people according to the eligible pathway assigned. Leads Performance Improvement projects, serves as clinical nutrition expert in task forces, team huddles, daily rounds, and multidisciplinary meetings Leads the development of the clinical in-services as the subject matter expert of clinical nutrition for the providers, clinical dietitians, interdisciplinary health care team, dietetic interns, nutrition assistants. Develops and conducts ongoing education and training of competencies for self, clinical dietitian team, interdisciplinary team, providers, new hires, and dietetic interns. Self-directed, manages multiple tasks efficient with appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills to prioritize effective patient care. Additionally, Advanced Practice Clinical Dietitian is responsible and performs duties with little to no supervision, for all patient units or service areas, in-patients or out-patients, to assure appropriate identification of patients who are at nutrition risk and to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Services.
The Advanced Practice Clinical Dietitian assures that the Mercy Mission, Mercy Values, Service Standards, confidentiality, policies and procedures of the department and Health Center are followed. This responsibility includes the appropriate utilization of the Health Center's resources to optimize patient care. Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics
Licensure:
RD (Registered Dietitian) current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
LD (Licensed Dietitian) current practice license for the state of practice or provisional license if allowed in state of practice
Registration eligible candidates in states that allow a provisional license prior to registration, must complete registration requirements within six months of hire.
Credentialing and National Provider Identifier must be completed within six months of hire or registration
Education: Masters degree in dietetics or related field
Experience:
1 year of healthcare experience in clinical dietetics of healthcare food services
