Are you a licensed pharmacist looking for a flexible PRN opportunity in a retail pharmacy setting? We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist – Retail (PRN) to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care, support patient safety, and serve as a trusted clinical resource for patients and healthcare providers.

In this role, you will oversee medication preparation and dispensing, verify medication orders, monitor patient medication therapy, and collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes. You will also help ensure operational excellence by supervising pharmacy support personnel and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Schedule: PRN position providing coverage for PTO, weekends, and other staffing needs.

What You'll Do Clinical Pharmacy Services
  • Review, verify, and enter medication orders for appropriateness, including dose, route, schedule, frequency, allergies, contraindications, therapeutic duplications, and drug interactions.
  • Oversee the preparation, labeling, dispensing, and delivery of medications.
  • Monitor patient medication therapy and provide clinical recommendations to improve therapeutic outcomes.
  • Identify, resolve, prevent, and document medication-related issues through collaboration with physicians and healthcare providers.
  • Provide drug information and medication counseling to patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Respond to complex medication therapy questions and consultations from the healthcare team.
  • Ensure the accuracy of pharmacy technician work, including compounding and medication preparation.
  • Practice Medication Therapy Services through patient assessments and evidence-based pharmacy recommendations.
Leadership & Operations
  • Prioritize daily workflow to meet the needs of patients, staff, and the department while maintaining efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff during manager absences.
  • Follow all departmental policies and procedures related to medication preparation, distribution, and safety.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance pharmacy services and operational effectiveness.
Education & Professional Development
  • Participate in orientation and training programs for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy residents, students, and support staff.
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by embracing feedback, supporting team goals, and contributing to departmental success.
Qualifications Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Pharmacy or
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a School or College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
Required Licensure
  • Current Pharmacist License issued by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Experience
  • Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred, but new pharmacists are encouraged to apply
