Primary Function Formulates and defines business scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business and industry requirements Performs functional analysis, requirements, definition and application module configuration and testing. Responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables Has a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions Responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation May be involved in the installation and tuning of modification, as well as archiving data. The Lead Business Solutions Analyst plays a key role in defining, designing, and optimizing business processes and system functionality across the organization. This role formulates and defines business scope and objectives through research, analysis, and a strong understanding of industry and organizational needs. The analyst performs functional analysis, requirements gathering, application configuration, testing, and solution design to support complex business functions.
The Lead Analyst is responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, mapping data and functions, and configuring application modules. This position requires deep knowledge of end‑to‑end business processes to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and deliver effective system solutions. Responsibilities may also include security setup, user documentation, interface and data migration support, and occasional light programming to develop necessary workarounds.
Key Responsibilities Core Functional Responsibilities- Performs highly complex systems process analysis, design, and simulation across multiple platforms and/or cross-functional business areas.
- Serves as the primary resource for analysis, configuration, and implementation of packaged applications within a major operating unit or business function.
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs and industry requirements.
- Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex business challenges, considering system capacity, limitations, and desired outcomes.
- Analyzes user needs and documents detailed functional and system requirements.
- Applies advanced knowledge of systems analysis and considers broader business implications when recommending solutions.
- Supports multiple modules or functional areas with deep subject‑matter expertise.
- Provides technology direction for short‑term planning and business road‑mapping.
- Delivers support to end users for configured or internally developed applications.
- Resolves highly complex issues, often partnering with other experts.
- Identifies subtle design or performance concerns and implements creative, flexible solutions.
- Understands full business process life cycles and aligns IT strategies to solve complex operational challenges.
- Drives behavior change through intentional, goal‑oriented communication and influencing skills.
- Defines project scope, objectives, and requirements.
- Develops project schedules, financial plans, risk mitigation strategies, communication plans, change control processes, and resource plans.
- Builds collaborative, team‑focused project environments.
- Estimates resources for large, multi‑department projects involving multiple technologies or high‑risk business needs.
- Ensures customer needs are met directly or through coordinated handoffs.
- Proactively builds relationships and identifies opportunities requiring cross‑departmental, highly complex solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
- Deep understanding of information systems, business processes, and organizational drivers for success.
- Expertise in requirements management, workflow diagramming, and use case development.
- Strong knowledge of process design, reengineering, and documentation methodologies.
- Experience producing high‑quality deliverables and supporting full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong vendor management, communication, and project management skills.
- Eight (8) years of relevant technical or business experience.
- Advanced skills in process analysis, business requirements documentation, and solution design.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor others, and collaborate across IT and business teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under limited direction and handle complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
