Make a Difference in a Fast-Paced Specialty Clinic

Mercy Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic team. This is a dynamic, high-volume environment where you'll play a vital role in supporting both patients and providers—especially through nurse triage call line support and direct patient care.

What You'll Do

Support providers and patients across both clinical and administrative functions:

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs

  • Collect and update medical and medication histories

  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures

  • Perform basic diagnostic testing (EKGs, glucose checks, urine dips, etc.)

  • Reinforce patient education provided by the care team

  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms

Administrative & Care Coordination
  • Manage nurse triage call line (Monday–Thursday)

  • Assist with scheduling, referrals, and follow-up care

  • Complete prior authorizations and precertification's

  • Handle front desk tasks (phones, check-in/out, documentation)

  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EHR

What We're Looking For

Medical Assistant: 

Education: High School Diploma or GED. 

Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire. 

Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office. 

Certified Medical Assistant: 

Education: High School Diploma or GED. 

Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire. 

LPN: 

Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing 

Licensure: Active LPN licensure 

Preferred Experience: 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office

  • Knowledge of outpatient procedures and equipment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Outpatient clinic with frequent patient interaction

  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)

  • Exposure to clinical equipment and infectious materials (PPE provided)
