Overview:
The Mammography Technologist performs mammography imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires operating mammography and other imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Mammography Technologist must also effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and completed required clinical hours.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program.
- Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
- Certification/Registration: ARRT (R)(M); Basic Life Support (BLS);
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient knowledge in producing diagnostic images with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities.
Knowledge of a variety of advanced procedures as applicable.
Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.
Knowledge of quality improvement programs.
Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
