Medical Assistant - MIGS and Urogynecology

Open to LPN candidates as well

Full Time - 40hours/week M-F Days

Overview:

• Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.  
• Assists with any needed in-office procedures/testing including, but not limited to, endometrial biopsy, bladder scanning, and point of care testing. 
• Administers injections within scope of practice.  
• Schedules follow up appointments per physician protocol.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan. 
•  Covers front desk caregiver as needed
• Demonstrates effective patient safety techniques and infection control.
• Works as part of the clinic team in an effective and efficient manner to provide compassionate care and exceptional service.

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant: 
  Education: High School Diploma or GED. 
  Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire. 
  Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience

• Certified Medical Assistant: 
  Education: High School Diploma or GED. 
  Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
