Position Details: Mercy Hospital Onboarding Clinical Nurse Educator Location: Sunset Hills Campus FT Days Overview: Delivers and coordinates the standardized new hire Nursing orientation program for licensed and unlicensed coworkers.  Responsible for developing and updating the core program in alignment with evidenced based practice.

Develops a comprehensive orientation plan for newly hired licensed and unlicensed coworkers
o    Coordinates scheduling of new hires for orientation requirements
o    Documents initial orientation competency and education completion
o    Communicates with leaders on delinquent education requirements.

Maintains proficiency in adult teaching strategies and education tools/methods (virtual/in-person) that develop and enhance critical thinking skills (e.g. mock events, simulation, writing case scenarios, etc.)

  • Partners with peers in delivering other Mercy education efforts:
  • Delivers hospital and regional residencies curriculums as needed
  • Serves as adjunct faculty with academic School of Nursing partners
  • Role models Mercy's culture, promoting excellence and safety
  • Uses effective communication skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, problem solving, and resourcing. 

Minimum Required:
Graduate from an accredited RN program
Current appropriate state license if required in discipline.
AHA BLS provider.   
Preferred:

2 years teaching experience and a master's degree are strongly preferred.
