Description

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to deliver high‑quality patient care and maintains professional accountability for all care provided to assigned patients. This role evaluates the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct caregivers, coordinates patient care activities with interdisciplinary departments, and upholds all patient rights and confidentiality standards. The RN performs all duties in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:

Qualifications:

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure

  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining an active RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Experience

  • Experience requirements vary by unit; see hiring department for details.

Certifications:

  • Required:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association, or successful completion within 30 days of hire.

  • May be required based on unit or required within a department‑defined timeframe:

    • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support

    • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program

    • ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course

    • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course

    • CPHON – Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse

    • OCN – Oncology Certified Nurse

    • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support

    • PEARS – Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization

    • S.T.A.B.L.E. – Six Assessment & Care Modules

    • C‑EFM – Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification

    • Other unit‑specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

  • Prolonged standing and walking for the majority of each shift.

  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat in order to perform patient care duties.
