Find your calling at Mercy! Provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Maintains departmental equipment and supply needs in conjunction with Supervisor and Materials Management. Coordinates with Surgery Supervisor regarding staffing and education needs. Position Details:

Position: Registered Nurse

Department: Cardiovascular Operating Room

Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm with call

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: Current Registered Nursing licensure in the state of practice.
Experience: New graduates accepted.
Certifications: Current BLS certification.
Preferred Experience: Cardiac and/or Vascular surgery experience preferred.
Preferred Certifications: ACLS Certification preferred. CNOR preferred.
Preferred Other: Additional languages preferred.

Physical Requirements: 
•  Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. 
•  Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. 
•  Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
