Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to join our Sleep Medicine team! If you're looking for an opportunity where you can use your specialized sleep technology skills while enjoying a schedule with no required weekends or holidays, this could be a great next step in your career. As an RPSGT with Mercy, you'll work directly with patients undergoing sleep testing, perform and score comprehensive sleep studies, monitor and troubleshoot testing equipment, and collaborate with physicians and clinical team members to help diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive overnight polysomnographic sleep studies
- Prepare patients for testing and explain the sleep study process
- Apply and monitor electrodes, sensors, and other sleep testing equipment
- Monitor patients and ensure accurate, high-quality data collection
- Identify and troubleshoot artifacts and equipment concerns
- Score sleep studies and complete required documentation
- Administer and monitor CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen therapy as ordered
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians and the Sleep Medicine team to provide an exceptional patient experience
What You'll Need
Required
- High School Diploma/GED or graduate of an accredited Polysomnography Program
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
- American Heart Association BLS certification within 3 months of hire
Preferred
- Six months of polysomnography or sleep lab experience
- Experience performing and scoring sleep studies
- Knowledge of CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen therapy
- Strong communication, critical-thinking, and patient care skills
