- 22-bed Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit (CMICU)
- Patient population includes:
- Organ system failure (respiratory, cardiac, renal, liver, etc.)
- Post cardiac arrest / targeted temperature management
- Life threatening arrhythmias
- Sepsis
- Diabetic ketoacidosis
- GI bleed
- Overdose
- Covid
- Mental Health/Self Harm
- Paralytics/Prone Therapy
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Pacing (external, transvenous)
- Patient and family education is a focus throughout the patient stay
- Advanced Cardiovascular Training
- Designated rooms within CMICU for CVICU patients
- Specially trained CVICU RNs recover open hearts directly from the OR
- Recover transcatheter aortic and mitral valve repairs/replacements
- Epicardial pacing
- Nurse/Patient Ratio 1:2 unless 1:1 for acuity
- Multidisciplinary team coordinates care of the critically ill patient (Nursing, Physicians, Pharmacy, Dietary, Care Management, Therapies, Ethics, Pastoral Care, etc.)
- Intensivist coverage 24/7
- 24/7 Leadership support
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
