Description
Find your calling at Mercy! The East Region Throughput Center RN serves as the clinical expert for the unit. There are three main focuses of this position:
- To be the first point of contact for providers or other healthcare facilities throughout the region that need/want to transfer/admit to a Mercy facility.
- The assignment of patients to an appropriate unit based on the identified criteria within each facility.
- Resource and/or backup for Staffing utilization and EVS/Transport dispatching
- Resource to bedside RNs with support of IV starts, Admissions and/or Discharges, simple patient transport and room stripping or other basic bedside support.
The position will utilize EMR modules, electronic scheduling systems and will collaborate with others within the unit as well as a variety of care teams. The ultimate goal is to facilitate a comprehensive, efficient and highly reliable admission, transfer and staffing experience for providers, patients and coworkers.
