The Senior MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, mostly MRI equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. Responsibilities also include serving as lead when leadership is unavailable and assisting new caregiver orientation and training. The MRI Technologist position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care. Loan Repayment Assistance Program up to $20,000 Lifetime: The Imaging Loan Repayment Assistance Program provides financial support to our Mercy Imaging co-workers in a 24X7 hospital based eligible position who are in a .4 FTE and above, working 32 hours or more per pay period. The program offers monthly payments made directly to the loan servicer up to the amount of $370 per month and up to $20,000 for a lifetime maximum. 

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion required clinical hours. 

    Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor's degree program 

    Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice. 

    Certification: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT; BLS Basic Life Support  

     

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    Preferred certifications: MRSO (Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer) or MRSE (Magnetic Resonance Safety Expert) certification 

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

    Ability to lead and motivate a team 

    Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills. 

    Thorough understanding of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed. 

    Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions. 

    Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 

    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

    Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. 

     

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. 

    • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. 

    • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
