Find your calling at Mercy! This position performs and integrates work processes within the Sleep Disorders Center to optimize our service quality and efficiency. This includes performing Sleep Study procedures and data scoring as needed. Technical review of coworkers scored data is required along with assisting coworkers with technical performance. This position also requires performing educational tasks per assignment including training of new Sleep Technicians. Additional job duties include communicating with physicians and patients regarding testing and treatment needs and information. Assisting SDC Clinic operations may be required. Managerial function of performing staff schedules and evaluations is required, along with completing project assignments from the Department Director and Medical Director. Position Details:
Education: College Level technical coursework or degree is required.
Licensure: A polysomnography registry from the American Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists is required. Completing educational requirements to maintain active status of this Registry is required.
Experience: A minimum of two years full time experience performing high quality Sleep Studies as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is required.
Certifications: Currently CPR certification by the American Heart Association AHA) is required, or complete a CPR course to acquire CPR certification from the AHA within probation period. Maintain AHA active CPR certification during employment.
Other: The Sleep Center Coordinator must exhibit high level of competency performing Registered Polysomnographic Technologist duties. This individual must be able to serve as a resource technologist to other Sleep Lab Techs including being able to competently perform training and education activities. This individual should possess good technical problem resolution skills for both data acquisition and processing needs. The ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, coworkers, managers, and other medical staff is required. Must encompass Mercy Service Standards into work performance and help generate good teamwork between staff. Must communicate effectively and work well with Department Director, Medical Director, and other department managers.
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: This position may be required to provide on-call coverage on a scheduled basis. This position may also be required to perform Sleep Lab procedures on weekends and on holidays. Working on alternative shifts may be required. Equipment Used: Polysomnographic recording instrumentation, Accessories, Computers.
